Homeowner Improvement Project
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Homeowner Improvement Project provides low-income (≤ 80% AMI) homeowners with up to $20,000 in funding to support necessary health, safety, code compliance, and energy efficiency updates.
In 2025, Market One helped communities secure over $4 million in CDBG funds for Cass and Van Buren County homeowners. You can apply directly for your community’s program in the section below.

Eligibility Information:
To be eligible, homeowners must:

Have a household income less than or equal to 80% of the area median income (AMI). See chart below for county income thresholds

Own the property and occupy it as their primary residence

Have owned the home for a period of at least 1 year

Be current on all taxes

Have lawful residence in the US
