Local Unit of Government Summit

Note: Attendance to this event is limited to board members, employees, or other individuals directly associated with local units of government (townships, villages, county government, etc.) in Cass and Van Buren counties. This event is free thanks to the generous support of AEP, Consumers Energy, and Entergy.

Join Market Van Buren for the 2022 Local Unit of Government Summit. The purpose of the summit is to bring Cass and Van Buren County leaders together to network and access training opportunities on pressing topics relevant to local communities and economic development efforts. Expert-led sessions will include Economic Development 101, Brownfeild Redevelopment 101, and Land Banks 101. 

Summit Schedule: 

8 a.m. | Check in begins, coffee and light breakfast served

8:30 a.m. | Introduction to Summit

9 a.m. | Economic Development 101

10 a.m. | Brownfield Redevelopment 101  

11 a.m. |  Land Banks 101

12 p.m. | Formal sessions end

12 - 1 p.m. | Lunch & Networking Hour

Lunch will feature a taco bar, which will include: ground beef, pulled chicken, sweet potato and black bean mix, guacamole, soft shells and tortilla chips, mexican street corn salad.
