
Samuel Halfmann
Economic Development Coordinator
Samuel Halfmann is the Economic Development Coordinator for Market One. In this role, Sam supports the pursuit and management of grant funding that advances housing development initiatives across Cass and Van Buren County.
Samuel brings a background rooted in nonprofit work, grant writing, and community-centered program development. Prior to joining Market One, he served as Program and Grants Coordinator at the Dignified Aging Project in Lansing, where he led fund development efforts for housing programs serving older adults experiencing housing instability. As Economic Development Coordinator, he draws on his experience in fund development, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination to help strengthen regional economic opportunity.
Samuel earned his Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University in 2026, with a concentration in Policy, Planning and Administration, and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Michigan University as well. He recently relocated to Kalamazoo from the Lansing area with his fiancé, and the two are looking forward to putting down roots together in Southwest Michigan.
